伊桑·卡宁（Ethan Canin），美国作家、编剧，旧金山作家小组的创办人之一。1960年7月生于密歇根州，童年在俄亥俄、宾夕法尼亚和加利福尼亚度过。从斯坦福大学英文系毕业后，卡宁进入爱荷华大学学习创意写作，并于1984年拿到硕士学位，随后又进入哈佛医学院，19 91年获得医学博士学位。此后他一面从医一面写作，直到1998年离开医学界，返回爱荷华大学教授创意写作课程至今。 卡宁以两部短篇小说集打入文学界，随后又出版了五部长篇小说，并担任多部电影的编剧。1999年，《纽约时报》选出二十位“新千年作家”，卡宁跻身其中。 译者 张鲲，1976年生于安徽，1997年接触文学翻译，曾多次获得戈宝权文学翻译奖和韩素音青年翻译奖。译有《末日巨塔》《伯恩的通牒》《黑色回声》《史迈利的告别》等作品。
